As if reading her mind, he gave her hand a gentle squeeze. He smiled. “Once again, you're the complete package, LaKeeta Hunt. Trust me and believe that.”

She thought about what he'd just said. He looked so sincere. But should she believe him? Or was he just bullshitting to stay in her panties.

He continued. “I was hoping that we could have a relationship that went beyond just sex.”

She shook her head. “I don't know, Anthony—”

“Tell you what. Give me a chance to show you that we could have much more.”

She looked at him with her eyes full of doubt. “Show me?”

He nodded his head. “Yes.”

She tilted her head to the side. She somehow really wanted to give him a chance. What girl wouldn’t want to believe that her very own knight-in-shining-armor had galloped into her life?

She sighed. “By show me….what do you mean?”

He grinned. “Well for starters, I’d like for you to go away with me for a week. I own a ranch right outside of the city. Spend some time with me out there. We could get to know each other much better.” His smiled widened. “And I could teach you how to ride. I have a stable full of horses and several acres of property. It would be like a mini vacation of sorts.”

She frowned. “I have my bakery to run. I just can’t up and leave it for a whole week.”

“You told me just yesterday that your sister could run the place by herself. If I paid for a couple of your other part-time workers to help out during the week, do you think you would consider it?”

She shook her head. “I don’t know, Anthony.”

He gave her hand a gentle squeeze. “Okay, LaKeeta. I won’t try to pressure you. But will you think about it?”

She gave him a tiny smile. “Okay. I’ll think about it and let you know what I’ve decided tomorrow when we meet for our exercise session. In the meantime, my sister will want my head on a platter if I don’t make it in to help her this morning.”

She grinned again. “By the way, thanks for recommending Keeta’s Just Dessertz to your friends and family. It’s made a big difference in my bottom line.”

He returned her smile. “How’d you know about that?”

“Oh, I have my ways of finding things out.”

Later on that Evening:

Since she wasn’t going to meet with Anthony to train that day, LaKeeta, her sister, and a couple of their friends had decided to meet at Hermann Park to walk.

As the four women in their crew completed the second mile of their five-mile trek, Adina McAlister gave her old friend a tiny smile. “You’re glowing today, LaKeeta and not from the walk. You meet someone special or something?”

LaKeeta's younger sister, NyAsia giggled. “Oh, she met somebody alright. That fine ass trainer of hers over at Body Work Zone.”

LaKeeta glared at NyAsia, then shook her head. Adina smiled. “Which one? Calvin or that other guy?” She fanned herself with her hand.
